Demolition at 114 W. Ellison Street, near the intersection of W. Ellison Street and S. Wilson Street, is scheduled to begin May 18 as part of a redevelopment project in Old Town. 

The redevelopment project, known as Project Grand, will consist of a new two-story structure at the site. The development will include retail and commercial uses on the first floor and office space on the second floor for the corporate headquarters of Shipman Companies and Apex Homes.  

The project is intended to complement the character of Old Town and continue investment in the district. The development will follow Old Town standards and include an elevated architectural style consistent with the surrounding district.  

Demolition is expected to last approximately 5–8 days, weather permitting. Crews will be on site Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.   

The sidewalk along W. Ellison Street near the site will be temporarily closed during demolition activities. Fencing will be moved back closer to the foundation at the end of each workday.  

Construction is anticipated to begin later this year following demolition and site preparation activities. 

Residents and visitors are encouraged to use caution near the work area during demolition activities.
